Our Team

PTR Controlled Access was originally founded by industry veteran Timothy Pfeiffer and his wife Pamela; although once a small family owned and operated business, PTR is now a major player in the Atlanta market for access control, automatic gates and video surveillance. Through hard work, industry expertise and customer service PTR now handles commercial, industrial and residential properties throughout the greater Atlanta area.

Our service technicians do both maintenance and installation on automatic gates, access control and video surveillance. We still value all our client relationships that create the foundation of our company, the same way we did when the company first started. We take pride in our ability to successfully keep our clients happy with our growing team of professionals.

Tim Pfeiffer – President 


Tim was born and raised in Michigan and served in the US Navy on the USS Kittyhawk. He moved to Philadelphia in 1987 where he met his future wife, Pam. Tim and Pam transferred to the Atlanta area in 1993 and in February of 2017 they celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary. Tim has been active in the automatic gate industry for more than 20 years, having been involved in all aspects of the industry including design, research and development, and service team management. For the past five years, Tim has operated his own automatic gate company, providing first class installation and repair service to North Georgia multifamily communities, industrial, commercial properties and their property managers. Mike Coffman – Southeastern Sales Representative


Michael was born in Parkesburg, West Virginia but raised in Albany, Georgia. Michael is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Kittyhawk. Michael relocated to the Atlanta area in 1989. Michael has been in the access control industry since 1995 as sales and system design.

Mike Barrett – Service Director


Michael Barrett is an Atlanta native with over 18 years of experience in the controlled access industry; he joined the PTR family in 2016 as our Service Manager and has consistently taken our service department to the next level with his deep experience and expertise. In 2014 Mike was awarded “Systems Integration Employee of the Year” for his outstanding efforts servicing both existing and new customers while optimizing the growth of the company. Mike is a trusted DoorKing certified technician and has had the distinct privilege of providing controlled access service for the most high-profile residents, prominent corporations and industries in the Southeast. Mike has proven to be a substantial value add for the services, and especially the people, in the PTR family!

Dana Crawford – Director of Business Development


Dana hails from the Great White North (Canada). She is equipped with a degree in Psychology and a post baccalaureate teaching certification. Dana is an active committee member of BOMA International and assists with events and charitable functions. After living abroad for several years, she finally settled in Atlanta – and has been here for 25 years. Dana has two sons, both of whom are Eagle Scouts. She enjoys mountain biking, yoga, reading and travelling to new destinations.
